Fragments & Stories
Hannah’s work merges photography, illustration and the written word to capture anthropological and natural stories. Her work aims to preserve the fleeting, fragmental aspects of memory and emotion through a series of monochromatic mediums.
Latest Projects01 -Cyanotype printed on linen fabric. This piece was inspired by Ancient Greek & Roman tragedy masks and borrows the open mouth motif used to express sorrow. The forked tongue imagery symbolises the fragmentation of truth, a strong characteristic of OCD.
02 - Theatre mask paper cut-out scanned and digitally manipulated. Inspired by Roman Parcae/Greek Fates this figure is portrayed in a palla.
03 - Destructive Little Rituals is an ongoing, self-exploration into the themes of struggle, acceptance and self awareness, whilst Hannah strives to find understanding in her relationship with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
04 -Photography taken on a recent trip to St Ives where Hannah took a tour of Barbara Hepworth’s sculptural works at her studios and at Penwith Gallery.
05 - Cyanotype printed on linen fabric. This piece was created using paper cut-outs in the style of Georges Braque. It was then scanned and the colour was digitally manipulated.
06-Photography taken on a visit to Henry Moore’s Studio and gardens. Featuring photographs of a selection of sculptures exhibited.
